Set in the beautiful rural Carmarthenshire countryside of West Wales, full of ancient oak beamed ceilings, a traditional log fire to give you a nice warm Welsh welcome, also a beer garden and a patio for those sunny days. Many interesting legends surround this wonderful ancient building, where Dylan Thomas often visited on his way West.

The low walls surrounding the front of the building were used to rest coffins on one side of the entrance, and for the bearers to sit on the other, whilst consuming their ale, which was payment for their services.

The White Hart Thatched Inn and Brewery was thought to have been built, originally to house the stone masons, who built the first church next door. Old heavy carved furniture is reputed to have been made by a joiner, sacked by Winchester cathedral because of his drinking habits, and payed in beer by a previous landlord, many years ago!

Whilst enjoying handcrafted ales and ciders in our cosy bar why not dine on the region’s best traditional pub food. The team at the White Hart Thatched inn and Brewery specialise in preparing traditional roast with huge, lovingly made, Yorkshire puddings, homemade pies, fresh bread sandwiches and the freshest fish dishes. We only use the very best Welsh meats and produce from local suppliers.

We are not a large corporation. The Coles family are made up of 6 members. This all started in 1994,  Marcus and Jessica are the chefs. They prepare and cook all your delicious meals. Annabelle and Angelica are the waitresses. They serve you and prepare all our puddings for you to enjoy. Cain, he’s the barman who greets you when you walk in. He is also the head brewer behind all our great ales. Tallulah, well she’s the youngest member so she just loves to help and involve herself wherever she can. As a family we take pride in what we do. We use the finest ingredients to produce the best products. Cain and Marcus are the head distillers, so they are in charge of the perfect spirit. Then it is a family effort to bottle and taste test all our products. We hope to see you soon.

A RIGHT ROYAL VISIT
a (29).jpeg

In the summer of 2003 we had a visit from HRH Prince Charles, it was a Wonderfull day. We showed him around the White Hart and all the different items we have about the walls. He also helped out in our brewery by making a mash for our most popular beer Cwrw Blasus. At the end of his tour he poured his own pint which he described as marvellous beer, he even signed our visitors book before heading back to his home in Llandovrey.

We get quite a few celebrities call in for some food and a drink whilst on their travels West.
