THE DISTILLERY
The Coles distillery is set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire country side in the village of Llanddarog, the dark timber clad building is no different to a large garden shed and it nestles between the trees and the lush green grass. As the doors are opened your jaw drops as the cathedral like interior faces you.
Set at the far end is a large still with two columns, shining as the sunlight reflects off the stainless steel.
All the spirits from the distillery are made from what is known as "from grain to glass" this means we purchase all the raw ingredients such as molasses for the rum, malted barley for the whisky and wheat for the vodka, this makes us the biggest craft distillery in Wales and the only distillery to make its own neutral spirit for gin distilling.
TOURS OF THE DISTILLERY
We undertake tours of our distillery so that you can view the process of making our spirits and listen to Marcus and Cain as they show you exactly what is involved in making the spirits and the processes involved. They have become very popular with groups of people who are interested in the brewing and distillery process.
WHAT DOES A TOUR ENTAIL?
Each tour starts with an explanation as to why Coles is so special. Then a short distillery video is shown before moving onto where the magic happens and Coles spirits are born. Tastings are completed at the White Hart Inn thatched pub. Each tour lasts about an hour and start at 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
